Quote: On reverse the mint mark seem to BE PUNCHED on bottom and top center of pole At the top it may look like an S but that is part of the design, probably took a hit from circulation. The S at the bottom is normal place for the mint marks. Your Merc was struck in San Francisco.

The mintmark position is only found after the word ONE in that little place at the bottom of the dime. I'm not to sure how it would have design elements of a newer dime though.

THE t on the word LIBERTY LOOKS DOUBLE . The w DESIGNER name on close inspection is really curved like if WAS a d. That's why I thought it might of being STRUCK on another coin.

The s on top its upsidedown. It has the vertical LINE at end and the bottom is rounded like the serif, I dont think a hit would do that. I'll post picture upside down.
