You guys wanna be even more mad?

He's sold 614 Items since Nov 1 including multiple items sold for over $3000. Most items sell from $30-50. Even ignoring the outlier sales he's pulled in over $20000 in a 3 month period. Is this not fraud?

The only way to defeat this scammer is this:

Each of us must must click on as many of his items as possible, then click lower right "Report This Item", and take the time to fill out the complaint. It just takes a few minutes, click your options CAREFULLY and not quickly, then under "Comments" say something to the effect that this coin has been artificially recolored or similar. If enough of us do it, listing after listing, we will bring him down. This is the ONLY way.

There might come a day that you won't be able to buy an authentic IHC any longer, as every coin in existence has been magically transformed into a fancy colored specimen by Mikes'.

You know what is questionable? NGC grading his AT coins as authentic BN. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NGC-PF-65-...AOSw8DZgDTIB

Tread carefully boys , you could leave yourselves wide open , no matter how
good your intentions .
Being an internet sheriff could land you in very hot water .
I am sure both of you have seen coins holdered by NGC
and PCGS that look exactly like some ( not all ) of Mr Garcia's
Lots . I know I have . As an aside , he has purchased numerous
Items from me over the last couple of years and pays immediately .
Once the coin is gone I could give a RA what happens to them .
As a buyer he is an absolute top drawer guy !

In the end though, it's sad that so many of the coins we love and hold dear are being destroyed.

ça va bien aller

Once the coins are purchased the owner can color or tone the coins any way he/she wants without breaking any laws. What disturbs me is that NGC is certifying these colorful examples as natural toning. The seller has sold over 100 of the colorful examples on eBay in NGC holders since November. If this continues, the colorful Indian Head cent will be a common coin and not add value. Keep your none color original skin examples as those coins will grow in value.

The same holds true for counterstamps, regardless of whether they were punched over a century ago or yesterday.

I've never bought from this seller but have often viewed his Civil War tokens. Beyond his rainbow pieces, he sells many choice and rare slabbed tokens. Not all that glitters has been baked ....

I actually bought a coin from him (it was slabbed, which convinced me it was legit). After that, though, I started watching his store and he either has an amazing nose for finding colorfully toned IHC's or, as you guys clearly believe, he is doing something. The thing is, I'm wondering whether he really gains much from it. I've been checking on and off to see what his colored IHC's sell for, and for the most part it isn't that much over market. Also, as someone else here noted, I've found colorfully toned IHC's elsewhere, including my grandpa's cache, so it's not like they don't exist.

Even if a bunch of his coins are reported, is eBay really going to do anything? A LOT of his toned coins are graded, and when a TPG is saying the coins are legit, I wonder if anyone at eBay is going to second guess.

And as someone above pointed out, he does have some objectively choice coins. Right now I'm watching an MS65 Flying Eagle to see what it goes for (I really wish I could play with real money—I would love to have a FE in this condition). https://www.ebay.com/itm/NGC-MS-65-....m1438.l2649

Are there population numbers specifically for toned coins?

It occurs to me that if you really wanted to put an end to AT-ing IHC's (if that's what he's doing), next time someone sells a nice IHC to him, document the coin before transfer, and then watch to see what happens after. If it turns up on eBay with color, and especially if it's slabbed as well, you'd have evidence that a) his coins are AT'd and b) that NGC is grading AT'd IHC's. Collectors would probably appreciate knowing about both issues.

@twslisa, we already have evidence of that. Multiple, multiple people have sold him coins that magically rainbow tone over a weekend.
