I searched the postings and it is said that no RPM's come after 1989. Date looks machine doubled but D is different. Opinion please.

DDD and split copper plating. No RPM's after 1989.

What does DDD mean? And how can you tell split copper plating?

Die Deterioration Doubling is DDD.

Agree. A classic instance of Lincoln Memorial cent Die Deterioration Doubling and the emergence of split plating. Split plating, where the copper 'skin' is ruptured, exposes the zinc core--which usually leads to a sad case of zinc rot.

Split plating you can see the gray color where the plating was split.
