1909 VDB Or Just Regular 1909 - Coin Community Forum

Coinfrog Bedrock of the Community United States 94367 Posts	Posted 04/26/2021 6:18 pm There is a die pair where the VDB is very faint even on higher grades, so I guess given the wear here this could be one of those, but personally I don't see it. Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5240 Posts	Posted 04/26/2021 6:37 pm Maybe I'm wrong on this but after the fiasco with the 1909 VDB being so prominent on the reverse wasn't it removed from 1910-1917 and added to the bottom of the bust in 1918? Report this Post to the Staff
Tanman2001 Pillar of the Community United States 4407 Posts	Posted 04/26/2021 6:40 pm If there is a VDB on your 1909's, it would be on the reverse at the bottom between the wheat stems. Not on the obverse. The VDB was removed altogether part way through 1909 and later replaced on the obverse on Lincoln's coat in 1918 as mentioned before.
