eaglefoot Pillar of the Community United States 6326 Posts	Posted 12/30/2008 08:40 am New Release dates from the U.S. Mint Who's buying what ?...... 1/5/2009 -- United States Mint 2009 District of Columbia & U.S. Territories Quarters Proof Set™ 1/15/2009 -- Native American $1 Coin Rolls 1/22/2009 -- 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin 1/22/2009 -- Kennedy Half-Dollar Bag and Two-Roll Set 1/26/2009 -- District of Columbia Bags and Two-Roll Sets 2/10/2009 -- 2009 United States Mint Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set™ 2/12/2009 -- Abraham Lincoln Commemorative Silver Dollar 2/19/2009 -- William Henry Harrison $1 Coin Rolls 3/26/2009 -- Louis Braille Bicentennial Silver Dollar There are some here that I'm going to have to get of course ! And some that I want, but should not buy !...... The Lincoln Silver Dollar will be a guarantee for me...... And the Ultra High Relief Double Eagle.......hmmmmm.....dunno.....This will be a beautiful coin for sure, but you know, I have a feeling that the Mint will have it horrifyingly high priced of course.......and that means very doubtful that this coin will fit into many peoples budget...namely mine.... And it will probably be better to buy an original Classic than this new Ultra Modern St. Gaudens.......of course the "original" wouldn't likely be "proof" like the new one !.... But, I REALLY want that piece of gold !!.....of all my gold coins, that one would be the most coveted by far.......that's for sure !.... I saw HSN coin show last night........Ha Ha.....they're sure excited about the new Cents !....they were selling the Lincoln Memorial Sets in Proof for a crazy price..... And talking about how valuable the 2008 ASE's will be because the Mint "stopped making them" and "supply ran out".....Which isn't exactly a lie of course, but leave it to them to use their salesman procedures on newcommers to put even MORE grossly exaggerated prices on coins.....GOOD GRIEF !..... If the mint is having trouble getting planchets, that could very possibly mean that they will have trouble meeting demand, which I expect will be high. I do wish that the Mint would sell Uncirculated Mint Rolls of 2009 Commemorative Cents struck on Bronze planchets, or better yet include the four Proof Cents with the Silver Dollar as a Set (that would just make too much sense, now wouldn't it?! ) (Don't even get me started on that Ultra-High Relief thing!)
