Hi everyone, I was curious what value you'd give my Trade dollar. It will never be sold, but I'm curious to see the general consensus. Thanks!

The 1874-S is a common date among Trade dollars but is still worth a few hundred dollars in extremely fine condition which is where I would grade your coin.
Trade dollar counterfeits are more common than genuine examples. Your coin looks OK but it could still be a fake. What is the weight? Does the coin stick to a magnet? These are basic verification tests you can perform.

She's def real Jaobler, ive been into silver dollars for a while. This is my first *trade* dollar but I'm familiar with other silver dollars and foreign crown sized silver pieces so I know what to look for

I can try to enlarge the pics but I'm restricted to mobile XD

Without better photos I am skeptical of this dollar's authenticity. The odd weakness on the reverse is the main cause for concern for me. The weakness on the claw & very faint mintmark & "dirty" look are all characteristics of counterfeits. Without weight / better close-up photos I personally would not touch this coin.

with Jake. Better photos along with weight are needed to conclude anything.

A quick look says VF to me.
Greysheet lists it at $260 in that grade.
Check ebay and Heritage auctions results for a more accurate value.

I feel that the date and the lettering on the reverse look odd. The characters are thicker and taller than other Trade dollars I've seen.
