Hello Everyone,

This is a bar I am considering; it is a private sale, person to person. The bar does NOT have a serial number though which is slightly concerning; one comparable I have seen does not as well... the design strike on the reverse looks weak. I'll have no way to testing except to weight when I take a look. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

There are some areas of concern to me.
First as you mentioned there is no bar number, all the genuine ones I have seen have one.
Also I checked the design under Art Bars, The only ones I could find with that design were sold by Etsy.
I also noticed slight differences in the design on the front.
I am not saying this is counterfeit but if it was me, I would want to weigh it before purchasing
There is enough there to put doubt in my mind but it is your call.

Yes this sounds pretty risky to me too. Maybe bring a magnet in your pocket too for a quick confirmation that it at least isn't a horrible fake. Even better, can you meet the seller at a local coin store and have them zap it to confirm the metal?

I wouldn't risk without the serial number.

Thanks everyone. I passed; didn't even go to look at it. Doesn't seem worth my time or risk.

Good choice, unless you are 100% sure,
always pass on these deals unless you know the person.

I've bought from private sellers in Rome before, but typically coins I can verify with weight, sight, and ping.

Just don't. Silver is cheap enough why risk a bad experience
