I got an 1889 penny in pretty rough shape, the AM in America is fading away and the date is pretty good still, what should I do, should I clean it?

Cleaning coins will really hurt the value if not done properly. Best to leave it be.

to the CCF.

Set aside any thoughts about cleaning the coin - that will only ruin any potential numismatic value.

Show us photos of both sides then we can help with value.

Do not jump straight into cleaning your coins.

Post some photos so we can help further.

Bought a pack of 57 wheat pennies, 2 steel pennies, and 2 Indian heads, feel lucky I got this.

It doesn't matter so much if you clean this coin, because the value is very low.

Someone's already tried to clean it. Very little value left.

I agree with the others, this coin has been fried.

That one is pretty rough unfortunately, still a lot of history there though. If you are interested in Indian Head cents you can get many dates in nice circulated condition for very little money. They make a nice collection.
