He was calling it higher than I am but thats the reason for this is to learn from. I will post my grade and the dealers and price I paid after there has been some replies on here. Pictures make it a tough call but it might be VF 30 - XF 40 details. Why is it dark on the surface and light on the rim? I did the scroll control key thing to make it larger and I see some pitting and what appears to be a artificial darkening of the surface to hide something. Actually might have some kind of wood ( black walnut ) stain on it. I would guess it would net grade at VF 25. Worth about 30 bucks or so. That's my guess.

You're welcome, I just edited it a little to add a price and a theory. Does this sound like the dealers opinion?

It's too dark for me to see the finer details. From what I can see I'd say it's between VF & EF. I'm very suspicious of the color & also wonder whats hidden beneath it. I couldn't begin to guess a value.

The dark color looks like the coin has been lacquered. From what I can make out the look looks EF-40.
