Just read that the mint is increasing their prices on medals. https://www.coinnews.net/2023/02/07...lver-medals/Quote: New United States Mint pricing has been announced for the collection of silver medals depicting former presidents and those honoring the six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces — the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force.
The 1-ounce silver medals will climb to $75 from $65 while the 2.5-ounce silver medals will increase to $175 from $160. Well this is sucky news... lets see how it will impact my purchases this year now..

That's a bummer and a pretty steep increase. I had planned to buy the 2.5 ounce Army medal for a family member. Guess it is going to cost more now

yep, and I'm already invested in the Armed forces series - all 3 different ones (the 2.5 oz., and 1 oz. silver and the 1.5", 1 oz. Bronze medals) And also with the presidential medals too.

I quit buying them when they went from $40 to $65. I don't understand their rationale. Have their planchet prices or other expenses gone up that much?

Any idea if they could change the prices for the Morgan and Peace items?

datadragon, thanks for the added pricing info! By the prices listed, I'm subscribed for $810 of US coins this year, PLUS whatever the two AI Dollar sets will be. I also am buying $472 in goodies for a coin buddy who wants nothing to do with internet commerce. A bit more pricey than last year, but still cheaper than my house payments .

It is how they are making up revenue from not having commemorative silver dollars this year.

Quote: Hello $130 silver proof set. At $130 I'm going to have to think long and hard about keeping a subscription on that set.

Yes a 2019 silver proof set was 54.95. 2020 63.25. Looks like it jumped to 105 in 2021/2022 but now 130 in 23. And this is just one item of that large list of increases. I wonder if this will cause resellers to reprice all their items right away to the new pricing. For example if they still had 2021/2022 mint sets to reprice more around the 130 vs the 105. I know littleton will regardless, they repriced years ago to the current 2023 rates The only plus would be those who bought at the prior lower rates the last few years and happen to want to part with their stuff, perhaps now at a premium. Might be an opportunity to go immediately and buy from coin shops or online if repricing is imminent before they change their rates. Too late to do so at the mint, we used to get a week or two but its already changed. If you have subscriptions please think over as well and double check the price increases.

Yep, I went and checked the mint's schedule and anything that was on the list AND had a date already assigned, now shows the new price. If you dive deep into their inventory pages, the prices are changed there too. (for once the mint did something quick.)

I already had planned to purchase at least 8 Lincoln medals this year for me and family members. I don't want to be a speculator, but it almost seems that it would make sense to buy a few more and resell them later-if Lincoln ends up going for the lower price.
I'm really looking forward to that issue.
