I have a list of coins that I want, it has no particular rhyme or reason other than I want one. This list includes :
Hawaii Commemorative
St. Gaudens Gold
Proof Silver Nickel
Proof V nickel
Proof Mercury dime
Isabella Quarter
And a few more.

The list was much larger but a few I have added to my collection, like the:
2016 Gold Mercury dime
3 Cent Silver
3 Cent Nickel
1953 20 Escudos in Matte
2 Cents

While I can buy most with some time and savings, I always have other coins/currency that pop up, so saving up for one of these sometimes takes longer than I expect.

Recently a fellow collector upgraded his Isabella Quarter and offered me the one he had at a great price, I couldn't say no. This was one coin that I really like the way it looks.

I showed it to Elizabeth yesterday and usually I get a 10 second look, an "It's nice" and the coin is given back to me.

In this case, it was:

"This is a quarter"

"WOW"

"So pretty"

"Give me your magnifier"

Followed by:

"This looks expensive, how much did it cost?"

and my reply was:

"It cost $1 when released"

At this point I get

And she walks away with my quarter.

Eventually I was able to get it back.

I was really happy to get this one!

Congrats! It's always nice to cross a coin off the "Want List."

@morgans dad,

The only ASE that would make the list would be an enhanced reverse proof or the 2013 enhanced uncirculated. The 1995 W proof while the king of ASE by value/rarity is just a regular proof, they had a proof for almost every year. Yes the 1995W is nice but it's not different enough for me. The 3 cent coins are very different as was the 2 cents.

That;s what makes collecting Awesome, What ever Your Fancy, ........

Edited to say, I Find it Really Difficult calling the 1995-W Proof, Just a regular Proof....... 30,124 others just might agree.....

What would you consider a Fair Market Value on the 2011 25th Anniversary 5-Coin Set, ? Just thinking out loud....

My dealer had that set for $750, which I thought was high. I would think around $500-$600 for the 5 coins in the OGP

I was tempted to trade 1 of the 2019 S ERP for the set plus $500 (1 ASE for 5 + $500) but for now I'll keep the 2019 S ERP

Just because it's rare doesn't make it unique enough for me. There are over 1 million proofs that look the same as the 1995 W, but there are only ~ 130,000 enhanced reverse proofs and only 236,000 2013 enhanced uncirculated silver eagles.

Very nice looking Isabella.

Grade by NGC appears to be appropriate.
