I rarely find any key date or semi key date Morgans in Rome, so I was surprised to pick this up today along with a 79 p Morgan and two WLH (34 and 45). Thoughts would be appreciated... I'll post the 79 later today... It has some decent album toning

 i think the lighting may make the coin look like it was clean but I think she grades straight. looks like a very fine scratch on the chin but other than that nice find.

Not liking the authenticity of the 1879.
The 1903-S looks much better and much more original.

@paralyse what doesn't look right?
It weighs right, exact diameter, pings on the app, and looks right under a loupe.
The fakes I have seen in Rome have failed nearly all of these.

Both look "antiqued".
Without seeing in hand, would have passed on both.

@acloco ... Besides "antiqued" what sticks out?
I did every test I normally do ... Weights are 26.63 and 26.58; diameter is exact; they ping under the app and there's no signs of molding or working like the dozens of cast fakes I see in Rome. Under a 10x loupe there's bag marks, circulation signs, dings, etc.
If these are fakes, they're at least silver. But I am reasonable confident they are authentic. Unless, of course, I'm missing something.
*Edited the weights...

VG10, possibly details, cleaned on the 03-S. Obverse diagonal hairlines across the bust.

@Ty and IGE, are you seeing any reason to doubt authenticity?

Just to elaborate, the 1879 looks off in a variety of ways, especially on the reverse Wreath, breast, and lettering all look wrong, especially ONE DOLLAR and IGWT
If it's real it's been heavily damaged (polished/cleaned) and retoned over it but the overall appearance of the coin just isn't right.
