I read at CoinWorld the US Mint plans NOT to set a mintage limit for the 2023 Silver Proof set with its price tag of $130. I have a subscription but am thinking of pausing it for 2023 due to the high price tag. Although I enjoy getting it I just find the price becoming a bit high -- I figure I could wait a few years when the sets price will likely drop. I already see the 2021 sets are selling on ebay about 20 dollars below their US Mint price. What are your thoughts? Will you get one (or two)? DO you think sales will be very low?

I'll be getting one, and a Limited Edition Proof Set when they are released.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

My Thoughts, I too collect All the U S Mints Mint and Proof Sets, Almost have Them All, Except the Early Few. Collecting is a commitment, Some commit to Some, Some commit to All, All do Not commit to All....... Trying Having the Complete series to date, My Goal. PS, Prices, Silver and the Sets Just May Go UP........

The last time I bought one was 2017 becuase I needed the S-proof ASE that I missed from the 2017 Congratulations set. And that's when the packaging was remotely worth the price. Unless there is an exclusive ASE offered in the LESPS in the future, there is no reason whatsoever for me to purchase one, given the price and the (in my opinion) lackluster packaging. I do not mean to belittle or offend anyone who collects these, I have have a few LESPS sets myself and I DO enjoy them. I also do like the OGP. And I TOTALLY get the "I have every one in the series so far so I have to keep going" mentality. As I've always said, collect what makes you happy!

Well I have 2 collections going here, one is all in OGP (Original Government Packaging) and the other I crack out and place into my Dansco albums. (I have an almost complete [98% complete] set of albums from the Lincoln cents all the way up the the modern Dollars inclusive.)

@Celtic: I believe that the OP (coinnewcomer1) is asking about the Silver proof SET not the Limited Edition Silver Proof Set. But I also have every addition the mint produced for the LESPS's I'm probably going to fabricate one for the 'missing' year 2015

These sets are not something I collect, so I will be passing regardless of the issue price or potential mintage.

I am opting out of the silver proof set this year. I went ahead and bought the quarters though (I am hoping the Dansco is released soon after they announce the women for 2025). I am gambling that I can pick up the half dollar and dime a bit cheaper down the road. The duplicate cent, nickel, and dollar is just annoying. It is not the first time I did this and I came out okay.
