Don't think so. Looks like reflection or glare. It's very hard to take photos of a shiny coin especially a newer cent. Let's see what the experts say.

Yes, Die Deterioration appears to be working its magic.

EP915,

Going to need better photos to really help you. What are you using to take photos with?

John1 - I'm fairly new to this hobby I took A photo with my phone of the screen from a coin microscope I just recently purchased. The scope has an sd card but I have a MacBook and don't know how to get the photos from the sd card. This coin came from a roll of a penny roll that had 28 of the coins having this same lettering on the date , liberty, in god we trust , and the same on the reverse side. I will Try to reupload better photos for help. Interestingly is that the coins in the roll do not have this so that is why I'm asking for help. As far as deterioration, for new coins is that possible?

Die deterioration is different from "deterioration" on the surface of a coin from circulation.

Die deterioration is not only possible but it is expected for the dies on any given year. Dies eventually wear out as coins are struck.

Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

You will probably still need to filter your light to get rid of the glare.
