I am curious about this nickel I found. Almost everything looks thick/soft on the coin. If it was DDD wouldn't Monticello have that look too? Thanks for your help!

Maybe a combo of a Dryer Coin and deterioration but definitely not a DDO / DDR.

That looks like PMD to me. Dryer Coin seems like a good theory, or maybe a weak acid. Those letters look flattened though, so I'd tend towards Dryer Coin.

That was my first thought too - a Dryer Coin - with such high rims like that and the device elements almost wiped out.
