1878 Morgan Dollar VAM-12 Doubled Motto

MrPink2018 Pillar of the Community United States 2457 Posts	Posted 02/02/2026 2:25 pm i think I picked this Morgan dollar from a Miami coin shop in december 2021. it was in the large coin case display, not the junk bin. the die cracks attracted my eye. closer inspection revealed numerous little nit-nits that made me think I could identify the VAM designation, so I bought it. after some study & several rounds of pictures I think I nailed it. the full coin pix aren't the best, but I got a lot of good close-ups. the attributes for the VAM-12 match what I see on my coin. this is from the listing at VAMworld: the 4 pictures provided in the VAMworld listing are golden-colored, the pix of my coin are silvery: Report this Post to the Staff

I believe I snagged that one from a pawn shop in Big Pine Key ten years ago. I spotted that die break above the cap as the coin sat in the glass case & knew it had to be special.
