Another Bucket List Coin Found, 1942-D/Horizontal-D Nickel

I cherried this coin last year from a LCS dealer who doesn't deal in varieties. I spotted the variety quickly as that is the first thing I check when I see a 1942-D nickel and is the only one I have found so far. Report this Post to the Staff

Primarily a general idea because there are so many errors and varieties so I just learn how to spot the diagnostics of the major types. About half or a little more of the time I happen on a type like this nickel without the seller really knowing what they have. Sometimes I run across a coin dealer who happens to know exactly what they have, and sometimes I buy from them a type/error outright because I am looking for something. Report this Post to the Staff
