Not counting duplicates, how many DIFFERENT dates/mint marks/coin types do you have from the US?

How many total possible different US coins are there (not counting errors)? I'm guessing about 10,000, but haven't ever tried to count

I have no "duplicates", except the ones in mint sets. My database tells me I've got 451 coins and 38 banknotes from America. And I don't have all the date/mintmark combinations of State Quarters, I have hardly any NCLT commemoratives (classic or modern), no bullion coins, very little from the 1700's and 1800's, and virtually no gold types.

I collect only US coins. I have all of the Dansco albums for every denomination, including Proofs, from Half Cents, to Presidential dollars. As per my records, thru 2009, there are 2972 coins. That does include some varieties. I have 2077 of those holes filled in the various books.

I have counted my US banknotes and I have 86 including type sets, starnotes, webnotes, errors, and I included obsolete, confederate and Military Payment Certifates. But I don't think I have time to count my coins. Oh, make that 87, I just won a dollar Hawaii banknote.

That at first appears to be a real tuff question. Myself, I'd have to go to a book like the Red Book and start counting all the varieties, mint marks, dates where changed, denominations, etc. I collect everything in coins but so many duplicates and rolls and 2x2's of things, just no idea. For a certain type that might even be a less available answer. For example I know I have well over 3,000 Mercury dimes in 12 Whitman Albums, plastic rolls and 2x2's. Same with many other types of coins. In those mnay boxes of 2x2's there are things I havene't seen in years.
I'll leave that question answer to whoever inherits this mess.

What are you trying to do, give me a stroke.I don't think I'd have the patience or time to count all years much less the mint marks. If I were to guess maybe about 750.
