Putting togeter a circulated Memorial cent collection ?

This set is by far the hardest I have started , the grading on these coins is as tough as it gets and to find prime examples is not as easy as it may sound .

Lincoln cents don't interest me in the least, I wouldn't even get them in change if I could help it and usually if they have a give/take bin I will throw all of them in there

Try putting a full set together while living in Australia.

Have not put one together yet but this sounds fun. I guess it would be the same with other circulated series but I like Lincolns

I have nearly a complete set of Memorial cents and Wheaties too.
Thanks to all those that have helped.

I'm working on one. I agree, not easy. Lot's of fun though. I'm hooked.

When you say "circulated", are you focusing on a specific grade or look? I've been focusing on upgrading my Lincoln collection to uncirculated red or red/brown coins - so I have circulated extras from the 60's and 70's if you need something specific.

It is on the "back-burner" for me.......but I do intend to begin this feat at some point in the near future.

Mine, however, won't be "higher grade examples", I fear .......so perhaps mine will be slightly easier to put together ! ....

All of my business strike Memorial cents came from circulation, with a few exceptions (for example, those from the 1973 mint set I bought for the Eisenhower dollars).

It had been pretty easy until a few years ago. Now it seems impossible to find nice ones in change. They seem to deteriorate so fast!

My circulation set is complete from about 1951 - 2009, excluding the Philly LP1 and Denver LP3. Obviously, this includes all the memorials. It wasn't that tough - most of the wheats are from my cash register, and all the memorials were pulled from 2-3 boxes worth of rolls. Most are still red, if not in fantastic shape. I occasionally come across really BU ones from my cash register, but not frequently, and they're usually 08 if they look good.

I have the circulated Memorial set completed from rolls, but some of them I would like to upgrade. My 1960s and 1970s Denver mint coins in particular are quite well circulated.

I have a few wheat's (4) to go in my 1909-09 set. They are a mixed group of uncirulated and circ. I'm slowly $upgrading$ them and putting the old ones into the 2nd album 1909-1990 that will be sold later. Also doing the same for Jeffersons 1st and 2nd albums. I also started collecting rolls of Lincoln's thanks to Bad thad. so much work to do.
