I recently purchased this coin from a wholesale dealer. It was actually my very first coin. I was hoping y'all could give me information on its true value. Also I have questions; Should I grade this coin? How much could it possibly be worth after grading? What do you think the condition of this coin is in nuismatic terms? Thanks guys.

First off, jonbradshaw2. Second, that's a nice-looking dime for a 64-year old coin. At the current spot price of silver, your dime is worth about $1.30 in intrinsic metal value. I don't think it would grade well because from the pictures it looks worn to me. Is that toning on the obverse or just an odd glare/reflection? If toning, it's pretty nice but that wouldn't add a whole lot to the value. Of course this is just my opinion; others may feel differently. How much did you pay for it?

being a silver Roosevelt dime, they're all pretty common and I wouldn't expect the value to go above a few dollars, unless it one in high MS grade. Really I wouldn't send a one to be graded unless there was something really special about it to give it a high value. This doesn't look like one of them. By the way, welcome to the community!

 to CCF. It's worth under $2 and not worth a TPG,IMHO. John1

That is a 1950-S. UNC it is worth a fair amount more than $2. Check if it has "full bands" The coin is too small in your pictures to see if it is worth grading or not, but probably not.

That is a nice dime. One my first sets I put together was an Unc Roosie set. It is not full torch so I would advise against TPG. I think it is AU but it could be better (my 'puter stinks) Enjoy the coin. No mater what you paid you have a nice coin there. If you are just starting out this is a great set to start on. Try not to get hung up on high grades pick a grade you can afford and work from there. If that grade is VF or MS63 does not matter. Either is nice and will challenge you but not drive you to the poor house. Most of all...Enjoy!

It doesn't worth to be sent to a TPG but is a good start being your first coin.

When I was doing my Roosevelt dime set .. I remember the 50 "S" as being one of the harder ones to find .. at a good price in higher grades. If I remember right the 49 "S" is the lowest mintage .. but the 50 "S" books at a higher value. In lower grades the early Roosevelt trade as 90% silver. Numismedia price guide list this coin AU50 at $6.xx and low MS in the lower $20 range. A MS/proof set of Roosevelt dimes .. is a lot of fun putting together .. with out spending a lot dollars. As compared to some other sets ..

I've been building a slightly circulated year mint set of silver Roosevelt's as a continuation of my Mercury dimes for fun. I usually pick else nice ones for $1.50 from the dealers junk silver box.

Based on recent auction listings, I'd say $10 + whatever the toning adds to the demand. Maybe $15 tops?
No point in grading it as it likely won't increase the value near enough to cover the cost on a coin at this level.
