If can read the title without your tongue getting tied in a knot, you should understand what I'm looking for. I want you to post ebay listings of normal coins, but the seller uses unneeded quotation marks in the title, which make it suspicious. If that still makes no sense, I'll start off with an example. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-D-LINC...82357584010?"roll of 50" makes it sound like he may have put 48 or 52 in the roll! Roy , the seller might think that not all e-bay buyers know that there are 50 Lincolns to a roll ? But I see your point on other e-bay listings where they use quotation marks to confuse unsuspecting newbies .

Eh, I guess that was a bad example.

I don't see anything wrong with that title. Some of the wording looks like "key words" are there so that it will be picked up on searches better. The seller might have put "50 coin roll" because he/she was getting messages asking how many coins are in the roll.

I don't use quotation marks, but am probably guilty of using an exclamation mark or two! :-)

A surprising number of "high quality" anti-quotation mark memes on the "interwebs" (haven't looked on ebay specifically). Clearly, "some others" are sharing your "suspicions"...

Hahaha I love using quotation marks for "extra" emphasis!

Quote: Hahaha I love using quotation marks for "extra" emphasis! Well, that's just "wrong".
In all the seller's current listings, just the grade (in caps) is in quotation marks. I have to admit, it makes it stand out.

It doesn't help that Wikipedia markup (which had since spread to other places uses ''double apostrophes'' for emphasis (italic), which look an awful lot like quotes.
Mind you, actual quotes used for emphasis are nearly as silly as the whole "LQQK" thing (I wonder whoever came up with that - it must be nearly a meme by now).
