Is This A 1909-S Indian Head Cent? - Coin Community Forum

Modern Coin Collector New Member United States 17 Posts	Posted 12/24/2018 02:47 am I have been buying rolls and bags of cull Indian Head cents and came across this 1909 cent. I noticed it has very heavy damage and it's very thin. But I noticed it has a mark on the reverse which very well could be a faint "S". So I need some expert opinions. It appears to be just in the right spot to be a mint mark, but I don't know. It's so worn and damaged that I can not tell. The last images are it side by side with a normal thickness IHC. If it's a real 09-S it's a poor mans version. I think that has been in a house fire as that blackened look I've noticed on coins I have dug at a house site that has been burned down.
