And the ANACS grade is:

1859-Indian-Head-Cent---You-Vs.-ANACS

I really think the coin is undergraded. I don't like the smaller ANACS slabs so I may attempt to cross it over to a PCGS slab at some point. Hopefully, they'll give it a higher grade.

ANACS robbed you on the one. That coin is AU55 all day.

The coin was already in the slab when I bought it so I am not complaining.

That's a very nice AU50. Maybe these days they'd give it an AU50+?

I agree it looks undergraded. I have an 1864L that was graded AU-50 by NGC and it has significantly more wear then this coin. (I think my coin was fairly graded) I would say this should get an AU-55 all day too.

I stand by my grade of AU55-58. This coin is undergraded, in my opinion, but perhaps it got dinged in grade for the dings on the obverse?

I see it is in an old holder. It would probably upgrade today.

I sent this in to PCGS to crossover, and I got the results today: Cleaned? It is funny because I sent 3 coins in for crossover. I wasn't as confident about the other 2 coins, but I thought this 1859 IHC was a slam dunk. In fact, I thought this would likely get upgraded to 53 or 55. The other 2 crossed and this one didn't. Oh well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad.
