So I picked up $30 worth of nickels today so I had something to do during the baseball games. When I pulled them out of the bag I can immediately see that three rolls have Buffalo nickels on the end. I immediately tear into them to find that in the three rolls there were 97 buffaloes, 1-V nickel, and 4 War Nickels. And all but four of the buffaloes have readable dates. I'm guessing that someone dumped a collection? Only doing small amounts of coins at a time I would have been thrilled to see just 1 Buffalo nickel. I have only been doing this for a couple months now..beginners luck I guess.

Wow ... outstanding luck and it does happen every now and then. Reports such as yours are what keep us roll searchers motivated for the next roll ... you never know what the treasure hunt will provide. Show some photos of the best finds ... we love photos. David

are you sure you didn't drive to the bank in a delorean? I think that's the secret some of the guys around here have been doing to pull massive amounts of silver out of their rolls.

I will work on the photos. I only have my phone and I don't think that it will take a good enough pic. Here is a rundown of the dates that I got: 1917 1920 1926 1926-D 1927-x2 1928 1929-x3 1930-x10 1934-x5 1935-x14 1935-D 1935-S-x2 1936-x26 1936-D-x3 1936-S 1937-x19 1937-D 1938-D And 4 with dates worn off. Is the nic-a-date stuff worth getting to find out the dates on these coins?

Look on the back of your 1938 D for a D over S mintmark and of course a 1937 D could have only three legs. There are also other things to look for of course but getting a lucky batch like that could surrender anything. You lucky dog you!

I love nickel rolls in general. 90% of my roll searching is nickel rolls. I am so jealous of your finds, but congrats. I've still never found anything amazing in my nickel rolls. The most valuable coin I ever found was probably worth about $12, the strangest was a fake 1950-D. I would love some buffalo rolls.

Congratulations that's quite a find! I tried nickel rolls a couple of times, nothing worth noting to say the least.

Awesome!
and I'd suggest just putting the nickels in some vinegar... It should work just as well, look (in my opinion, less ugly), but take two weeks...

Amazing finds! Someone probably just needed cigarettes that bad or got into grandpa's collection! (I hope not) but I'd suggest going back to tat place and getting Silver dollars and halves because if it was a collection dump you might have hit the jackpot eh? Nice job for sure! I need almost every date you posted up there, so as you can probably imagine I'm green with envy! haha ~Jay
