Just thought this damaged nickel should be exposed. I wonder why a person with 100% feedback would risk listing a coin worth 5 cents that might just cost somebody $12.00 to own?

The only "nice error" I see is the seller listing it.

I've been seeing a lot of PMD (post mint damage) selling or at least being offered on ebay as original mint errors - buyer beware!

See this often in the IHC, Buffalo 5¢, 2&3¢ series, Morgan dollars, not so often on the more modern coins.

It is post production damage. I am more inclined to believe that a coin counting machine is the culprit.

ebay is a problem not only for the PMD coins sold as errors but also the misuse of terms. The term Cud is just one example. It is such a widely used site and people pick up these terms, use them and it becomes a snowball effect. Fortunately some people come on this site and then get corrected and informed but there are too many that don't ever learn the proper wording. I wish ebay would manage itself to be more concern about the hobby they are profitting from instead of just being concern about their fees.
