I've been getting some decent deals on the bay lately. This one was awhile ago for a roll of Mercury dimes that the seller was pretty vague about. He said they were the last of a large lot he had and how nice they were and you didn't want to miss out on them. He had a picture but it was the same one that he used for several of his already ended auctions so it was clear (to me anyway) you weren't getting what was shown which was one nice dime sitting next to a pile of 2X2's. I had bought from him before and was pleased so I wasn't worried about dealing with him. I ended up winning them for just slightly over melt so I didn't care what they were but when I got them there were 47 of the nicest mint state full split band mercs I'd ever seen. 40 of them dated 1940 P & D, 7 were 1939 D's and the other 3 were beaters from the teens. I picked out a dozen of the nicest ones to keep and have been re-selling a couple a week. I've sold six of them so far and have about 1/2 my money back already. This is a 1940-P I sold from the lot. It went the cheapest of the six so far for a measly 7.50 with free shipping.

Just repatriated this nickel from Germany. Gotta love European grading. They are much harder on a coin than we are. I've bought AU coins time and time againthat they grade as VF. I paid VG money for this one. It's far nicer than that.
