MS-64 (AU-58 is that wear on top of the eagles wings and neck?) PL. Very Nice! I don't know what I was thinking (MS) of course it appears to be a PROOF (58)

What a beauty! I would definitely be handling that with gloves though.

What about Labradors in Afghanistan? Oh, the coin. Unless you are trying to trick us with the mirrors, I would say PR-55. :-)

I'm going with AU55 but my wife was looking over my shoulder and says MS.

MS61-62, and likely a business strike with prooflike surfaces. A dandy for sure.

Quote: I would definitely be handling that with gloves though. (Particularly since shiny surfaces get fingerprints (and they're on there forever!) very easily. (In my defense, I started with gloves on but got frustrated with holding the coin and the camera and the auto-focus not showing the coin's reflection. But point taken! Please, everyone, learn from me!)) I was actually very surprised at how shiny the coin's fields were when I received this one. It came ungraded (but I will offer an opinion after you all do).

Man, the Mint was hitting on all cylinders in the 1890's. I'm not going to hazard a grade, but intuition makes me think it's a Business Strike. Value-wise, they're about on par with similarly-graded Proofs from that year; this is not a cheap coin.

I appear to have lust in my heart for that coin.
