From the pictures, it looks like a beautiful MS65 to me!

Where exactly are you getting all these high grade buffalos? Or did you get them all at once from somewhere and are slowly posting each one separately for grade opinions. Not that I mind, I'm just curious.

Sadly my dad passed three weeks ago. He left me his collection and I need to get grades so I can sell some. Many of these I already have in my own collection.

I see. My condolences on your dad's passing. Pretty much all the nickels you've posted are all worth over $100, if my memory serves me correctly. That's usually the cutoff for it to be worth sending them in to a TPG to get graded. The one posted in this thread, as well as others you've had, should be sent in if you want to sell them eventually. The biggest problem with your nickels is that they are all great looking mint marked buffalos...all whose designs were sometimes poor. Every single one is either a high AU or a mid grade MS coin. That's a few additional hundred dollars difference though, and us on this thread cannot be sure of wear from the pictures like a TPG can be with the nickel in hand. I'd hate to see you sell an MS-64 worth $600 for $150 because people here (me included) think we might see some wear and call it an AU. Send these guys in.

Beautiful coin. I am not in your position, but if you could keep them all, I would. Obviously, for many reasons.
Would never be able to replace these coins in these grades...you just don't find them.
Selling them raw, for top dollar, would be hard to do. The only way I think you could do this, is at a major show. You would have all of the dealers lined up at your table.....guarantee it.

I agree with hesgut. These are so beautiful they could benefit from a TPG opinion. Once slabbed they should be an easy sell. My condolences as well. Always tough losing a father. Mine left behind rolls of bicentennial quarters, nothing as spectacular as this coin.

Wow I've been away for a while and have missed some great coins. I absolutely love the characteristics of this coin. If you go to get rid of this one please contact me :). Even if you get it graded, I'll be more than happy to give you a fair price.

Brickle,
Got the coin today. I would agree with the person you had look at it. I'd say it's a solid AU58 as well. I'll take it to my guy as well an see what he says. If for some reason he thinks it's a lot higher I'll send you some more money.

Send that in for grading. Bet it comes back at least MS63 if not 64...and a shot at 65.
Split tail - check. Full horn - check Braid full - check
The early teens were sometimes poorly struck because of over usage of dies. LIBERTY on this coin is considered full on this one.
NICE coin. Wish I would have snagged it.
