OK it has been awhile since I did a giveaway. OK since I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary. I will do a Giveaway to celebrate. OK as most of my post it is a guessing game. my anniversary date is Jan 11th You will have to do two thing in this giveaway. 1st Guess how many post I will have at 11:00Pm est forum time of Jan 11th. 2nd post one of two things- Who started you collecting coins or What was the first coin you bought. OK pretty easy but I like to make them that way to give everyone a chance to win. I will not be reading through this post that way no one thinks there is any buy-est toward anyone. if there is any question please email me. OK now for the prize it will be a 2007 ASE. I do not have one yet but my dealer will get it right about that time. So if he doesn't have them right after you win you will receive one shortly after. Last rule is that duplicates are OK so there can be more the one guess of the same number if there is a tie will put names in a hat and have someone draw for me. OK now guessing will close on Jan 8th at 11:59Pm est forum time. no late guess will be allowed. Thank you and have fun Danny djluster

The first coin I bought with my own Money was another Mercury dime 1942 from a small junk shop ,, it cost me 20 cents That was In 1969 doesn't sound like much money does it ? but that represented 1/5th of the money I had earned for mowing the neighbors yard thats right 1.00 to mow the front and back yard!! Thanks for sponsoring a contest Danny !! Rick

I think you will have 933 posts by then! My son started me off in the fabulous world of collecting coins. He was started by his grandmother. So it is a three-generation thing now. As for the first coin that I bought? I think it was a Canadian Maple Leaf $1 silver coin for my son. Thanks for the competition, Danny!

Who Started my collecting: Grandad, After he passed in 2000 I kinda got a few coins, not too valuable but full of sentimentle value and the valuable coins are in the bank waiting for me to become older. THings like gold mohurs (a story will come up in the World coin forum about that) and I said I have to carry on his love for coins! The one I bought first(I love both questions): I went to Sri Lanka the year after my Gran passed and the same year my granmom passed and saw an antique store, we stopped, my mom looked at masks and I looked at coins. I saw some dutch coinage from ceylon and bought a couple of ones including a 1132 Queen Lilavati coin, the re was this real fat coin from 1792 and Dutch, its value now is $500+ and bought it for $20 in US dollars.
TKC!

I think you will have 923 posts. My grandfather first got me interested in coins with a silver Ben Franklin. The first coin I ever bought was actually a 10kg lot of world coins from ebay which was loads of fun to search through. Thanks for the contest!

938 posts, and My mom unintentionally got me interested in coins when she showed me her stash of foreign coins from when she used to fly around the world for business. I haven't looked back since, but I bet sometimes she wishes that she never showed me her coins because of all the time I spend on coins! Thanks for the chance!

I'll hazard a guess of 934. I don't have any memory of someone "starting me" on collecting; I think collecting is just in my DNA. The first coins I bought were almost certainly Liberty nickels. This was 1980 and I couldn't afford silver.

My guess is 925 posts. I inherited a couple dozen old US coins, half of my father's little accumulation, when he died in 1978. The first coin I bought was a 1946 Walking Liberty half (my birth year). Thanks, Danny, for the contest. Jan
