This is my first contest. I have won several times on CCF and I think it's time to give back. This isn't a huge prize but someone may enjoy a few coins to start a type set.
The prizes:
[1] Buffalo nickel
[1] Liberty nickel
[1] 50's Jefferson
[1] Roosevelt dime
[1] Indian cent
[1] LMC
[1] Shield Cent
[1] Kennedy half
[1] 76' Kennedy half
[1] State Quarter
[1] 76' Quarter
[1] Washing Quarter [pre-99]
[1] Ike dollar
[1] SBA Dollar

The question to answer is:
My father was born on a very important day in history.
What was the day, month and year?

The first correct answer wins. If no one gets it in a day or so I will give a hint.
I will add that any country is welcome to enter but I can't guarantee you will receive your prize because I don't know how reliable your post office is. A bag full of coins might come up missing.

But just have some fun and I'll be watching.

Excellent ... I applaud your efforts to 'give back' to the forum and I'm certain this post will garner much attention.

Sooo ... I'll take a stab.

Maybe you might post the rules for the great contest such as how many guesses or how many per day etc. Thanks for having it.

Well it can't garner much attention if the first person gets it right can we?
My father BLUESZONE SR. was born during the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Salute to all the vetrans

I guess I tried this too close to the date.
nickelsearcher wins.
PM me your address and I'll get it out to you.
Guess I'll have to try something harder next time.
I have a feeling you don't need a starter set nickelsearcher.
Sorry I made it too easy, not much fun for every one but I tried.

amida17 was close but that was my great great great great grandfathers bday

Your right TNG I should have had more rules but I guess this six year old bugging the crap out of me while I'm trying to type confused me.

Darn!

If nickelsearcher doesn't want it I would gladly take it as it would make a nice add on to my collection!

I humbly refuse to accept the prize.

I truly wish for you BLUESZONE to enjoy a much better experience at your first ever ... and very generous ... contest giveaway.

Sooo ... here is a suggestion from the inadvertent and unwilling 'winner' ...

Click the 'Note to Staff' link and tell them to bury this contest in the 'completed' section.

Think of a much harder question ... and try again.

Helpful hint ... read the prior contests (except GTP) that have gone over 5 pages and you'll see great examples of difficult questions.

Anyways ... a new contest is required ... same generous prize ... but hopefully an opportunity for you to garner the accolades deserving of a member contributing a nice prize for the first time to the CCF family.

Sooo ... do we agree on this?

I feel guilty not giving you the prize David. How about I give it to you and you turn around and have a giveaway sometime to pay it forward.

I just wanted to do something to remember my father. He passed away when I was 15 and left me the coins that got me started collecting.

Let me know if thats ok and I will get them out to you.
Otherwise I will do what you said and start over. Very kind of you to offer it back.

I would have declined also. Hence my ridiculous answer. GREAT prize but would be more appreciated in a "Newbie"'s collection. Take a minute and come up with something else. Either way I am sure your father would be proud!

Final thoughts from me ... then to bed and work tomorrow at 5:30 EST.

Pleased that you remember ... and note that your contest was made in the same spirit of sharing.

That is what I intended when I declined the prize.

A noble and kind reason ... we all can understand the motivation and emotions behind the sentiment.

Sooo ... all that said ... consider re-formulating your next contest of this prize to target your audience ... it's your rules to develop ... nothing wrong with stating that all entries must be CCF members under a certain age ... etc.

Whatever you decide for your next contest ... I close with a quote of myself (am I allowed to do that?) ...

Ok then. Contest canceled. I will come up with something else maybe for newer collectors since this is a starter set. Thanks to David for being generous and letting someone else win the prize and sorry to those who guessed only to have me start over. It may take me a couple of days to get an idea but I will give these coins away.
