What do you collectors of 8 reales coins display or hold your coins with? Or do you just keep them in a box like pirate booty?

Avoid pirate boxes, as contact between your coins will damage them (even more if they are high grade) I like platters like those : You can also use holders like those - they are cheap : Or if you have slabbed coins - well you don't need a particular box (other than one to sort those) Oh, last thing, avoid plastic pouches that are not made for coins, or those made for coins that smell plastic : they will damage your coins in the long run.

Thanks MathieuMa. No slabs or high grade coins. I guess I was hoping that there was an album made for them. Arr matey something will come to me. I like being able to handle them.

You can fit those carton squares in an album actually - there are some made for that :) It will be heavy though, don't put much page in an album :D

Quote: I use the crown sized 2 1/2 x 2 1/2. I used to use the crown sized mylar coin holders but the noticeable gap from the edge of the opening to the coin annoyed me so much that I went back to 2x2 " Morgan dollar" size holders. Awesome for the smaller Mexican 8R's like the Go Mint and other small early date cap & Rays but doesent work so well for the larger 8 Reales like the Spanish and later date cap & rays but oh well I prefer it a little snug around the edge than the gap with the bigger ones. By the way they are all displayed in the plastic album sheets.

I store mine in mylar envelopes laid out in my mahogany coin trays. On the rare occasions when I take them to a show or club meeting, I have a set of custom Capital Plastics Display boards, one for all the Phillp V, one for all the Ferdinand VII and one for all the Carlos III.

In my case, I also use mylars. But the favorites ones were stored in this type of box

Nice box ! :) There is at least one thing I miss with slabs : on most, you can't see the edge of the coin. I think the latest NGC slabs have something for this (but never handled those)

That's the reason why I like the above 3 airtites' slab. You can easily open it just to hold on and inspect the coin. You can also have a peace of mind in terms of the coin's protection as regular TPG slabs provide. It's quite flexible in usage

Oh, I thought those were done by a TPG and were sealed. That's excellent - I wasn't aware of those :) I really want to break the only sealed slab I got, the coin has a superb edge, which I can barely see ... :D

I like the ideas that members posted. Iam definitely getting that case with every coin in it's separate plastic box for my favourite coins.
