Wow! I see why so many people here recommend them. They are really good albums. A bit pricey, but totally worth it. Thanks to everyone who recommended them to me. I can't get over how awesome the silver proofs look in them!

Love my Danscos as well. Just wish they were some other color than brown.

I also got one last week (new Wheat penny off ebay for $12). My Wheat collection looks SO much better than the crummy Whitman folder it was in. Makes me want to try to complete the whole thing!

Congrats on your new purchase. Be sure to be extra careful not to scuff your coins with the plastic lenses. Many a fantastic coin has been irreperably harmed by carelessness.
I have never done this myself, but it is quite possible if you are not careful.

I got them from danscoalbumstore.com. I got the Kennedy half, 1st ATB Quarters, & 1st Prez dollars all with proofs. I'd like to have gotten a few more, but they get expensive quick. I'd post some pics, but I'm trying to make the Danscos for mint set and proof sets only. At least back until the point where it starts to get really expensive. So they look a little sparse at the moment. I'm still keeping all my circulation finds I've gotten through the years in the same folders I've been using, but these new babies will be for unc!

And remember -- you have to slide the plastic lenses out before inserting the coins...

wizard coin supply was cheaper when I did my shopping around, but both wizzard and valley are close in price depending how much you are ordering Also, I dont understand how people "scuff" their coins with these albums Maybe it's because my coins aren't ridiculous high grade proofs but I just don't really see how you would scuff the coins. I have read a few people's concerns and claims of this, but I just don't get it. Put the coin in the hole slide the plastic across. No problem Enjoy the album I have 9 and love the way they make my coins look

Yeah, putting coins in the albums doesn't seem like rocket science, but I try to take my time and do it right too. Also whoever recommened wearing cotton gloves for removing proofs from the case and putting them in the album, I salute you! Great advise for when you have to handle proofs.
I looked at the sites you guys recommened, but the prices all seemed to be the same, unless shipping is considerably different.

Dansco are my favorite brand of album and are definitely worth it. They also are amazing at helping you see mintage, learn history, and also to organize your coins. I am about to purchase a jefferson dansco and make a set from circ!

Good for you. A couple of things, if you are leery of using the slide to scratch the obverse of the coin, try it from the back of the page and sliding the plastic over the reverse. The openings are generally just right for the coin so using gloves of either cotton or the medical variety is a must for easily damaged proof surfaces. Another option is to insert coins only when you have that slide section complete. Slide marks do exist especially on what would be Gem+ proofs from the classic era, but get a technical PR64 or 63 grade due to these "handling" marks. It also means once you have a row complete, avoid the temptation of taking coins out and putting them back in, increasing the opportunities for slide marks. Finally it's one thing to get your first Danscos, but another entirely to have your first COMPLETED Dansco.

Very nice! I have been happy with my Dansco albums, the oldest ones being 27 years old now.
