the saddest part of the story is that the books probably cost at least around 600 when you bought them, that is if you bought them from your school library rather then getting them used off the internet. Good luck with the coins. sorry about being a debbie downer lol I never bought books when I was in school after my first semester because I never used them anyways haha turn that 180 into enjoyment!

I buy my books on ebay and Amazon or craigslist. One semester I bought my books on Amazon, then at the end of the semester I sold them to the school for a profit. hahaha. I usually don't gain profit like that, but most of the time I come close to breaking even. never buy from the school bookstore! got sidetracked, but have fun searching those boxes!

I wish I'd have had those options when I was in school. :) * cue old geezer music - perhaps some Glenn Miller Orchestra * My engineering books were always crazy expensive and of course they came out with new editions every year, so basically squat for sell-back. Not sure what I'd do without Amazon today! Yes, you can even buy ASE's there if you really want to. Have fun with your boxes!

I hear ya CelticKnot-many of my professors wrote the books for the courses they taught, and then every couple of semesters they would make a few changes, put out a new edition, which made the old edition obsolete. Seemed like quite a racket. As if the university wasn't paying them enough. Ha!

Haha ya I go to a Public University..actually one of the top 5 engineering schools in the South..TN Tech University. I am studying GIS (Geographical Information Systems) though so I guess it's somewhat a division of engineering. Anyway, I am studying for finals right now, so I am probably going to go pick up a box tomorrow. I have an account with regions bank, but the local county bank here has a coin counting machine. They do require you put down 50 on a checking account to open one, so I guess I might do that. What do you guys think?

In tech school, the professor taught out of his own books, we had a blast finding spelling errors, or a simpler solution to his problems/answers. College was luckier, we rented the books as part of our tuition, still had to buy a few, but not many. I wish I had gotten into coin collecting back then. I do remember an interesting thing from those days, back in the late 87 or early 88, two dollar bills were all of a sudden all over town, never did figure out why.
