Because my Official U.S. Mint album (made by Harris (owned by Whitman)) for Roosevelt dimes has a spot for one.

I am so p.o.'ed right now. I have exactly 4 open holes left in this album. One for the 1951 proof, one for the 1955 proof, one for the 1958 proof, and one for the stupid 91 silver proof.

How I went this long without noticing this I don't know.

The only real solution I can think of is to buy a clad 91s and shove it in the hole. That would make the album look right... But in the back of my head I would always know...

(edit: corrected a date - changed 1968 to 1958)

From CoinTrackers, "This proof contains no silver, it was not until 1992 that the US mint started back minting silver proof dimes, and even then most were not silver proofs."

No, they did not make silver proofs until 92. Just looked at my Dansco to make sure I wasnt brain farting, and no 91 silver proof slot.

I wonder if I could find a 1991 S clad error. I think an error in that slot might not make me cringe as much.

already have the 96-w. The album runs from 1946-2000 and then has 18 unlabeled holes. I went through with my label maker and made labels for those 18 holes. 15 of the holes are for the proofs from 1950-1964. 1 is for my 82 no p, 1 is for a blank planchet, and the last one is for a 1950 s over d error.

It's going to be a sweet sweet set once I'm done with it. All coins are blast white MS 63+ and PR 65+. The only problem that I see this set having is the STUPID 91S SILVER hole.

Or any other appealing error. Just use your label maker to cover the offending mislabel!

Yep a disk that says "This coin does not exist." Maybe sacrifice a clad 91-S proof and have that engraved on the back.

No but there were silver eagles, proof and business strike, and silver commemorative minted that year. It's something.
