Maybe you could send it in to PCGS and get the "First Strike" designation on it.

But I do remember when these were coming out, very cool of Cheerio's to promote coin collecting. Check that I just went on an ebay search seems like these bring pretty good money in the special packs, $5.00 to 10.00 as is, and some in NGC holders are at almost $200.00 WOW!

ANYTHING coming with a packaged product holds a premium. Are these current? I would clean the shelves. PM me if you're selling. Thanks

I used to have quite a few of these in the original packaging...then my kids found them and set them free.

Quote:whats the possiblity of a WAM? About zero. The WAM was discovered later and there has never been a report of a WAM coming out of one of these packages. I could see them having a little value in the packages, but cracked out and slabbed to me they would be worth 1 cent. Kind of like a GSA dollar cracked out and in a slab labeled GSA. GSA? OK yeah right, where's the holder?

I have a packaged cent from Cheerios that appers flawless--not a mark on it(on the front at least!). I have always wondered if the penny die used to strike these was different from the regular production die like the dollar coins. I am sure someone would have noticed it by now but food for thought.

I have a nice handful of these. My parents used to buy me cheerios when I was a kid all the time and my brothers and sisters used to fight over them I also have olympic coins they released made out of plastic. Summer and winter olympics that is. Those aren't in a package though, because I dont think they had packages for them General Mills has a factory in Buffalo though so we get all kinds of cool prizes in our cereal here

Aw jeez... I'd love to have a Cheerios Sacagawea. The detail on the reverse is rather spiffy.
Not shelling out $10 grand for it though. 'Probably going to have to go through a heck of a lot of rolls to find one. :-p
