Has anyone seen anything like this.
Looks like there are 2 and a bit beads of the crown to the east of the crown with part of the neck running down below it.
any thoughts
thanks

If you look closely between the crown and the markings in question it looks as though the bottom strap continues from the crown to the markings

I think its well worth looking into. I would not forget about it. I do not know enough about errors though to offer any good info. I have to wonder if posting it in a place some of the error specialist where non-Canadian collectors might be mire inclined to look at it might help? I am guessing some of them do not look into Canadian coins and posts about them?

Because the coin is well worn, I'd suspect some sort of mechanical damage. Or possibly a lamination error that has been bumped around & worn. If it were nearer to Unc it would be easier to identify if it was a true error/variety. I'd hold on to it, just because. It would not be worth the $ to send for certification if that's what you had in mind.
