Here is a thought. Should the mint recycle some of the old classic coin designs? If so, which designs and what coins should be changed?

A 2016 commemorative depicting the Mercury dime. They have done the Buffalo nickle in a commemorative and we have the ASE design copy. maybe a set with a Standing Liberty quarter design also on the dollar size.

And nothing would get people more interested in modern coinage than a bare breasted Type 1 (or at least talked abount on every talk radio station and MSNBC / Fox NEws cable channel etc.) There is no such thing as bad publicity

All of our current coinage is old, except the dollars which are as exciting as watching my cat sleep. As I said in another post don't copy an old design but use them as an inspiration like the Merc. Instead of a side view use maybe a 3/4 head view, for example. Maybe utilize a revised St. Gaudens on the dollar coins. Or Issue a commemorative with the Morgan design. or, how about a line of commemoratives commemorating some of our most loved classics. Issue a set with a Indian Head copper penny, Seated dime, ect in a collectors set. The mint should get creative. When I think of reusing old designs I think of what some in the auto industry is doing. They design something new that hearkens back to a much loved design, the late 60's Mustang, Camaro,Challenger, VW Beatle.

I'm afraid we all are stuck with Dead Presidents on our coins as standard coinage. Commemoratives are the Mints way of saying this is all your going to get in the way of the old, nice, pretty, artistic coinage. And if you complain, we'll start making even smaller baby sized dollars.
Rest in Peace

I would love to see a run of commemorative halves using the classic commemorative half designs of the 30's.

Standing Lib from the quarters is awesome, but draped bust is a must! And not as they massacred it on the first wives'!
