Another 63 in my opinion, too many small ticks to make 64, 1878 coins are generally well struck and mark free in the higher grade beyond 63.

This one should be vammed! The right 7tf coin can be worth a lot of $ in MS grades.

I agree with 63. Contingent upon which seven tail feather it is, PCGS guide prices MS 62 - 63 between 80 and 1750 dollars.
PCGS price guide is high, but it does show range of value.

I haven't attributed this one yet only that it is a 79 reverse.....other than that I haven't had the endurance to try to attribute this coin.....too many variations and after about a half hour looking at the variations my eyes start to hurt haha.....I will eventually get it attributed

shadow, You can limit your search by identifying which of the three wing feathers you have (see circle in photo). VAMs 200-203 have the "rounded" feather, 210-219 have the "finger-like" feather, and 220+ have the "squared" feather. Yours appears to be "finger-like".

Thank you very much Seated dropping it down to 10 varieties makes this process much easier. I'm not all that familiar with many VAM's and have really only started getting in to attributing. I know two of the dealers in my area don't care to check for VAM's and the idea of being able to cherry pick some is very appealing.....so my VAM education begins....there should be a college that offers that as a major.....it'd probably take at least 4 years going to school full time to learn the major varieties.
