Check out your 1941,42 and 43 pennys. I have found a heap of them with the backwards facing portrait of the king clearly visible on the reverse. Her's a couple of scans they are pretty lousy and my camera is only good enough to take picturs of fish But you can just see the outline of the kings head on the scans . In hand they stick out like the proverbial dogs -----
interesting, I do have some that I sat and looked at for ages wondering what was wrong with them, will have another look with this in mind later, I did want to dip them in acetone to get the grease and oil of them, now I have a double reason to get them out
Nice Trout, bit of a shame they are heavily circulated but still good & collectable especially for newer collectors, good examples of what to look for, most of mine are the other way around, you see the outline of the roo on the obverse, good finds.
You might find that some of these are due to ghosting rather than die clashes. There are some threads about it, but too tired to search for them just now.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved
I think that the "ghosting affect" is what happened here. I also have a heap of Brit pennys i'll have a look at when the dust settles after Christmas. By the way MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
