I'll NEVER give up the hunt!

I know the feeling. I just went through my sister's jar of change -- looking at each and every coin with my magnifying glass. I found a double-headed quarter (machine shop hijinx), a PLASTIC (no kidding) penny, and a 1940 wheatie. When I found that old worn penny I was ridiculously happy.

Oddly enough - just a few days after posting this self-pity-party thread, I finished the baggie full of 1973, 1983, 1993, and 2003 cents.

I found a 1983P-1DO-001. Nice little doubled die obverse. Not the BIG DDR, but I'll take it!

As some of you may know I am still quite new to this and have currently searched through close to $100 worth of bank rolls and still searching. I've learned alot over the past few months from the resources offered and coppercoins advice. I've been lucky and have found alot of wheaties and one 1911 in AG condition plus some interesting S wheat pennies but no double dies yet. I have learned to mark my rolls when I go through them which I usually do at least twice to make sure that I don't miss anything and then take them to a different bank. I just went through another $20 in 3 days and haven't found anything interesting but only a few normal wheat pennies. I know that there is nothing easy about finding rare coins but it definately is interesting to search for them and is kind of the thing that keeps me searching. I continue to appreciate any and all help and advice from the experts in this forum and continue to learn daily when reading through the posts. Sorry that you didn't find anything in your last search coppercoins but great news on the new 1983P-1DO-001 find.

This is what keeps us looking, the little ones.
