Fairly NEW TO THIS. IS THIS WHAT YOU WOULD CALL A DIE CRACK? What do you experts think? Edited by brahcu 12/28/2011 6:36 pm

DrDon I defer to your expertise. I would add that I see a lot of gas bubbles and that coin is going to deteriorate. Perhaps putting it into an air-tight container will help, but only time will tell.

Raised line: Possible die crack Incuse : Scratch or possible struck through. A closer view might help us determine which?

I'll try and get you a closer picture. It's not a scratch, that I'm sure of.

I find it difficult at times to figure out what is a die crack or scratch on my own coins. If it's a scratch, is there always a raised area ? Happy Hunting 2012!

Sorry, I really can't get any better of a picture. I have to get a camera. The picture that on here is from my cell phone.

Gas lines tend to be thicker and irregular. I'm not saying it can't be gas but I'll stick with a crack.

It's a die crack. Everything indicates so. Thin, raised, irregular shape.
