chrycopaul Pillar of the Community Canada 1106 Posts	Posted 07/09/2007 04:50 am This Edward VII 1 cent stamp id on the back of a post card from 1910. The Armouries (built 1900) in the photo was used by Dept. of Defense up until 2 years ago. It has since been declared a Heritage building and awaits a new use. t360 Pillar of the Community United States 2703 Posts	Posted 07/15/2007 2:23 pm I really like the calligraphy! Very nice! I collected US first day covers for many years starting as a kid in 1969. I always preferred addressed covers which had actually traveled through the mail. IMHO these have so much more character than the unaddressed ones mass produced for sale by dealers. I still have many from the 70s which I prepared and sent off to the postmasters at the first day cities. I lost interest when they instituted the "grace period", so that the first day cancellation could be back dated and lost any significance. Report this Post to the Staff
