Those prices are pretty spot on, you can buy a PCGS AU55 1925 penny for $1250 at the moment, it's not until you go to AU58 (aUNC in the Australian grading system) that the price jumps to $4,500-$5,500.
Would be interested to hear what chris or another expert thought about it.

I.S. Wright had a partly orange Unc., with prooflike fields, estimate $7,500, in a recent auction catalogue. There was an enlarged photograph in the catalogue.

https://goccf.com/t/107109This coin is pretty much the same condition as yours. Put both the images together and have a good look. Even better If you can try and make the images overlay, I have no idea of how to do this but I have seen it done in this forum.

 Is this what you meant trout? I dont think it looks too bad. If it is a fake (which there is plenty of them out there) it is quite a good one. |

I got a response the other day, he asked what I wanted to know about the coin. I told him I was trying to figure out a practical value, but already got a good idea from this thread.
I also had it checked out by a couple of people who know these coins at the NYINC coin show right here in my town and didn't get any concerns about its authenticity.
It resides among my world coin collection with the few other Aussie coins I have.

Your coin is around AU55, it should be able to fetch around $1200 at auction if certified.
