I really only got back into coin collecting early last year after a long absence, so for most of 2011 I was focused on assembling my 7070 Type Set Album and, later, stocking up on silver whenever the prices dipped a bit. I ended up spending a LOT of money on coins last year as a result, however, and I'm definitely going to need to pare down my purchases this year if I want to stay married... I might make additional silver purchases if the prices dip significantly, but I'm happy with what I've got right now and don't feel quite the urgency I did last year to stock up. For 2012, I think my main goal will be to periodically upgrade select coins in my 7070 Album. Maybe a better 20-cent piece and some better Barber coins across the board. As part of that goal, I hope to get some older commemorative half dollars such as the 1920 Pilgrim commemorative and the 1925 Lexington - Concord commemorative. Anybody else have any collecting goals for 2012?

I've transitioned over to more of a silver bullion guy. With that said, my goal is to add on average at least one ounce of silver per week. I'll buy the occasional large cents or 2-cent coins but my focus is on accumulating silver at the moment.

Finding an acceptable 1926-S Mercury dime. If that's all I accomplish in coin collecting this year, I'll count myself satisfied!

My goal(s) for 2012 - Complete year and mint set of Franklin and Walking halves, as well as Barber date set. I would say overall I'm about a third of the way done with the 3 sets. I purchased a lot of silver in 2011, would like to trade for some platinum and gold at some point early this year.

I retired last year so I got out my collection that had laid dormant for 40+ yrs. I'm in the process of organizing & valuing the better pieces. Then I will look to sell some (probably my commemoratives & duplicate keys) to complete my small cents from 1857-1958. Need the 09S-VDB & 14D. Not looking for high grade specimens since all the other wheaties were picked up roll searching $50/week for at least 10 yrs so they cover everything from good to MS. Other than that, my only recent purchases have been some silver rounds & bars that have some artistic qualities & will add to those as I find them.

Finish my Lincoln Wheat set. Most of the 20's and up are Unc. S VDB and several S mint teens are all that is missing. Have a couple of upgrades needed, but that will come with time.
Started a Buffalo, Indian, and Washington set as well. So, the focus will still be on the wheat set, but keeping my eyes open for candidates for the other sets.

I need to finish my 7070 type set. I just need two Seated dollars, and a couple of commemoratives. I also want to finish my IHC set. The 08 S and 09 S are mine, need a 77 and a couple others. My mother should be able to finish her Walking Liberty half set.

I'm similar to CoinHunter as I'm concentrating on acquiring as much silver as I can afford which, for the time being, is around an oz per week or so (hopefully more when my wife fully recovers from surgery and returns to work since I don't have her income now). As far as coins are concerned I'm concentrating on Canadian stuff for now since thats what interests me. I am planning on selling off or trading LWC's (including a 1909 that I found), pre-'60 nickels and some foreign coins.

Due to collecting for well over 60 years I think it's time to start downsizing my collection. So for 2012 I think I'll find a way to get rid of about 75% of my collection. Mostly all the massive duplicates. Not sure how just yet but it just has to happen.

I'm looking to ramp up my ebay selling activity first and foremost, so I guess you could say my "collecting" goal is to "collect" less. With that said, the obsession with 1921 Morgans continues unabated and I expect to continue seeing them cross under my lens. There will be a lot more Lincolns wandering through my life, as well, and I expect to actually keep some of them.

Upgrading my collection of Mercury dimes and varieties as always, may occasionally buy a few silver and gold oddities. Sell some of the coins I don't collect anymore?

Just starting out myself.
For world coins, I'd like to get 50 pounds in bulk lots throughout the year.
For American coins I have two goals. 1. Finish filling all my Whitmans of currently circulating coins. 2. Fill my 7070. It's actually a lowball type set, shooting for AG or lower condition, but without damage. If I get it done soon enough, I may start on a high grade 7070.

Work on the four different collections that I have going on now, Morgan, SLQ's, Walking Libertys and Mercury dimes. Why I have that many at one time is beyond me, I don't seem to be getting anywhere with any of them. Also some Silver Bullion when I can.
