I have pictured what we call a "Millionaire Buck" that us bus drivers and probably other faculty have access to on a limited basis to give out to kids when they do well, whether it is for behavior or for helping out another student or maybe for exceptional effort in scholastic studies.
Each driver is supposed to get 3 per month to give out and the kids really like to get them.
I think they can be redeemed for prizes, or for special field trips.
Whatever happens with them I am not clear on but from my point of view, they really like getting them, even if they aren't cashed in.
( This one is in my private collection, they are kind of scarce )Well, I have a gripe as well as other drivers and none have been given out this year. So I thought I would make up my own.
Since I can't make plastic coins, I decided to make up a paper "Millionaire Buck" and if they don't accept them in the school, well, they can cash them in at the end of the year as chances on a drawing where I will have prizes I can come up with on my own.
I asked the kids who should be on the buck, you know, like Washington is on the dollar and one girl said "Harry Potter" so I decided to go with that theme a bit and made these up this Saturday morning on the computer.
I am getting 30 of these printed up and they are fold-overs and I will number them by hand and laminate them. I hope that this revives the program, but if it doesn't, I have little things around here that I can use, such as
Buffalo nickels and silver certificates or Matchbox cars, baseball cards or something like that in June myself.
Here's the front and back. I find stuff like this keeps kids paying attention to safety and the rules and makes them behave better and it keeps the ride from getting nuts.
