Well they sure look cheap, and all of them seem to be of too high of magnification to be useful in coin collecting, I find even 40x is too much usually.

Remember you get what you pay for. Especially true with optical goods!

im starting to work that out now I'm researching a bit more, will be buying one this year, so I started learning now

Talking to people who've used DealExtreme before, I think that the reason things are cheaper is because shipping happens whenever i.e. don't make any urgent purchases from them.

I bought a Celestron 44302-A model through Amazon a couple of weeks ago. It was on sale at US$38.- with software included. Have since seen the price as high as US$71.- Very satisfied with its ability to view and photograph coins and stamps. It also has a 2 year warranty. Have purchased small items from DX in the past and they have been Ok but not the greatest. As mentioned in an earlier post, you get what you pay for. Shop around.
