Found a 2006P with what looks like notching on the 2 of the date. I couldn't seem to match it up with anything on Coppercoins so I ask the community. Does this look to be MD or DD? Thank you.

So even if it shows notching it is still MD? I don't get it. Sigh, I'm beginning to think that I'll never find something authentic. Thank you for both of your answers.

It maybe a machine doubled (The marks left of the devices on LIBERTY) doubled die. Looking at the devices on LIBERTY a second time I can see the notching. I was only looking at the Date 2. Now taking a second look at the LIBERTY the devices are notched and the top of the devices are taller. I don't see a match on coppercoins, but with your coin in hand you might be able to see markers that match your coin. Something I've noticed different in these is the letter Y in LIBERTY. They seem to vary in size. So you might check to see if you can find a match there. But it is a doubled die now that I took a second look. The Machine Doubling makes it harder to see on the Y if there is or is not a notch. But the enlarged letters tell me it is probably one of these. Sorry and thanks you brought up your question. I'm always glad to take a second look and this time it paid off.

Hey thanks Coop. Woo hoo. It could be my first doubled die. I'll have a 2nd look at the coin and see if I can match it up to anything on Coppercoins and try to post better pics. One of the problems that I'm having now is achieving sharp focus using my computer monitor and the cameras live view while manually focusing my macro lens. I need either a different camera lens or a digital microscope that will take decent pictures. Celestron has got a couple of nice ones that I'm looking at right now. Thanks again Coop.

Yeah coop is correct, LIBERTY shows to be a doubled die. Congrats on your first!

Actually it is the upper part that is doubled.
Here is an example of a 2009 example with the normal one to compare it with:
DD-Or-MD
The 001 is similar, but a different year. The second example show wider devices with out the notches. Always nice to compare side by side when you question if it is normal or not?

I will take some comparitive pics in the morning as I use the morning light to help emphasize the areas in question and will post both pics as a comparison. Thanks again for all of your help.
