Just found this in my proof set run and wanted to share. This happened in less then two years and was the only set out of a 1954 - 2009 run to pick up the toning. Oddly the half has no toning at all.

Enjoy!

Was it stored in a different area than all of your other proof sets?

It was the set on the very end of the shoe box. On both ends there are little holes in the corner of the shoe box too. I'm sure this had something to do with it but the set on the other end of the box did not have any toning.

Right now I have not finished working up the pictures and such. I think I will try and sell some here and ebay. I wanted to list the 1968 - 2011 sets in a run but after seeing this 1970 set I think I'll have to pull this one out and do something with this one individually. I'm tempted to set it aside and see if the toning continues but I really don't know how toning really works. I will be listing the 1954 - 1964 sets from my other post sometime tonight.
Rest in Peace

That's what I consider attractive toning. I need to get some shoe boxes...

Keep us up to date on the listings. I need a couple in the 1968-2011 range.

Too bad your coins are damaged....you should store them in a better container. I know some people like toning, but to me they are damaged.

LOL! Too funny lincoln! I happen to agree with you; but, for an inexpensive set like this it's still fun to see, watch, collect, learn, and enjoy!

Somepeople like toning...some people don't...I happen to like SOME of them. These aren't toned that much.
