And the spell checker says " Congratulations No mistakes!", so maybe it isn't a newly coined word after all!

Maybe it's just a plot the govt is slowly and gradually trying to take away our LIBERTY.

It comes from Die Deterioration. The die becomes worn out around the edges and the metal slowly wears down closer to the tops of the letters.
