I was watching Storage Wars last night and " Nabila " won a locker that had US Currency, graded Morgan dollars that appeared authentic, additionally some fake Trade dollars, What interested me was a 1948 Canada Voyageur Dollar was mentioned. I never found out if it was real or fake but why someone put something like this in a storage locker and abandoned it is incomprehensible Does anyone know more about this find?

Didn't the coin dealer quote a price of 35 bucks for the MS64 Morgan dollars?

Sounded like she was going to sell it on silver prices and not the coin value of a collector, actually almost all of the pricing he was giving her were very low ball prices so I wouldn't give that dealer much stock.ship

not to hijack the thread but the values they spout off on that show (for regular stuff) is crap. last week a couple dozen boxes of oak flooring was worth "$10,000"... try about 99 cents a square foot!
the first season may have been "real" but after the success the writers came in and everything is scripted.

Also, when they know they're not gonna make any profit or even lose money from the locker, the overprice things dramatically. My favorite is Barry Weiss, funny guy.

i think barry is the only real guy on the show. wiki him, he's the real deal.

funniest thing I ever heard is when he told jarrod he likes to dip his cigars in brandy(i)

I saw that show and was confused that they found a '48 and mentioned it was worth $2500 but when they went to sell, there was no mention of the '48.

I then rewatched that part of the episode and I think what happened was, the woman found some coins, the man with her started looking up coins on this smartphone and said something like "there is one here for 2500, but it's a '48 Canadian. There are others for 10-25 bucks".

I think the guy just looked up silver dollars on ebay and started quoting prices that he saw. I don't believe that they actually found a '48.

Stupid show, fake prices, fake show. Watch it whenever I can.

I kind of like Darell, he found over $5000 in coins on one episode. Instead of selling, them he kept for him and his daughter. It's Dave I don't like, sells second hand stuff at retail pice.

I believe she was just looking for price for the TV cameras because she walked out the door with them in the bag.
She knew what a shister he was.
I still think Brandy is still the star.

Dave seems to have a pretty good imagination as to what stuff is worth. I cant imagine anyone pays those prices in his store. Barry is definately my main reason for watching the show he is hilarious my favorites where when he brought the remote control helicopter guy and the episode with the midget

Barry does make the show interesting to watch. I love the episode when he dressed like the Hobo with the oxygen tank. He is to darn funny. I also love when he buys a locker he just trashes the stuff that Jarod and Brandi would love to have for their store. "Swap meet? We don't need no stinking swap meet!" :)

The show was rerun last night... we were confused about the '48 silver dollar comment too, but I think it was the exact scenerio CC-Ottawa mentioned. The prices at that 'reputable' coin dealer were comical though.
